Live In-Person Parenting Class for Divorce in Florida

This page describes our live in-person (attended via zoom) Parent Education and Family Stabilization Class, which is approved by the Florida Department of Children and Families, and satisfies the live attendance requirement of all Family Courts in Florida.

Under Florida Statutes 61.21; if you are divorcing and have minor children, or involved in a paternity case with minor children, you must attend at least a four (4) hour in person Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course, approved by the Florida Department of Children and Families, prior to obtaining a divorce. Generally you have 45 days from the date you filed for divorce, or was served with divorce papers, to take this course.

You attend this class via a live video conference. It is akin to watching the live broadcast of a sporting event, where everything happens in real time. The class starts and stops at a specified time, and the instructor is a real live person, who interacts with you, in real time. You see the the instructor on the screen, you may have discussions, and ask questions in real time. In our online course you have access to an instructor, you ask questions and discuss topics, albeit not live in real time. The material in our online course is pre-recorded and presented to you. Both the live video class and the online course are approved by the Florida Department of Children and Families, and meet the requirements of your local family Court. Just keep in mind that some Courts require your live attendance; in which case you would choose the live video class. Also, some Courts do not have a preference; in which case you may choose the online course. However when in doubt choose the live video class.
